Elevate Church is seeking a passionate, talented, and spiritually grounded Volunteer Worship Pastor to lead our worship ministry. This individual will work closely with the Lead Pastor. Since this is a church plant, the worship pastor will need to build a worship team, and execute meaningful worship experiences that invite people into the presence of God. This role will initially be on a volunteer basis, with the potential for growth into a part-time paid position as the church grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Worship Leadership: Lead congregational worship on Sundays and other special events, creating an atmosphere where people can connect with God.
- Service Planning: Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan and execute weekly worship services, including song selection, flow of service, and integration of multimedia elements.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical team members. Encourage spiritual and musical growth within the worship team.
- Rehearsals: Organize and lead weekly rehearsals to prepare for Sunday services, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment for the team.
- Spiritual Care: Pray for and minister to the worship team members, helping to create a culture of discipleship and community within the team.
- Creative Vision: Contribute to the overall vision for worship at Elevate Church by exploring creative ways to enhance worship experiences (e.g., introducing new worship styles, incorporating visuals).
- Technical Oversight: Work with volunteers to ensure that sound, lighting, and media are effective and aligned with the worship experience.
Qualifications
- Spiritual Maturity: Demonstrates a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, embodying the core values of Elevate Church and modeling a lifestyle of worship and discipleship.
- Musical Skill: Proficiency in leading worship vocally and instrumentally (preferably guitar or piano). Ability to teach and guide other musicians and vocalists.
- Leadership Abilities: Experience in leading worship and/or worship teams in a church setting. Able to inspire, mentor, and lead volunteers.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with sound systems, audio/visual technology, and worship software (e.g., ProPresenter) is preferred.
- Commitment to Vision: A heart for church planting and a commitment to Elevate Church's mission of connecting people with God and building a worshiping community.
Commitment
- Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week, including Sunday services, weekly rehearsals, and planning meetings.
- Compensation: Volunteer role with the potential for future paid part-time status, based on performance, commitment, and church resources.
